Position Summary
DataPath is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to engineer, secure, and sustain containerized platforms and automation pipelines supporting a Kubernetes-based Platform as a Service architecture in on-premise and air-gapped environments. This is an on-site position at Fort Bragg, NC. This role blends DevOps engineering with hands-on cybersecurity implementation. The engineer builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines, administers Kubernetes clusters through Rancher, manages infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, and integrates new software and hardware into isolated networks while keeping those systems secure and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
Engineer and orchestrate containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions for full stack automation, using current industry standards for infrastructure as code and automated software quality assurance.
Integrate newly procured software and hardware into existing environments with minimal disruption to operations.
Assess software and hardware platforms and recommend cybersecurity enhancements.
Implement and maintain security controls that protect systems and data.
Establish and execute processes for thorough testing and evaluation of cyberspace systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues on on-premise systems.
Update, configure, and manage system components to optimize existing customer solutions.
Stay current on industry developments, best practices, and standards, and apply them to the supported environment.
Required Qualifications
Nine (9) or more years of demonstrated experience in DevOps engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience administering on-premise GitLab and managing offline container registries.
Hands-on experience with Rancher and Kubernetes (K8s) cluster administration.
Experience building and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
Knowledge of DevOps cybersecurity practices, risk management, and operational security.
Proficiency in secure Python programming for automation and scripting.
Experience with Git and GitHub for version control, automated builds, and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Proficiency in Linux system administration. Experience with Debian-based distributions is strongly preferred.
Understanding of networking fundamentals.
Experience integrating applications and software into air-gapped or otherwise isolated network environments.
Understanding of how to design, build, and integrate APIs into automated workflows.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting U.S. Special Operations organizations.
CISSP or CompTIA SecurityX.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) or CompTIA Linux+.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent with nine (9) or more years of relevant experience.
Certifications
DoD 8570 IAT Level II / DoD 8140 compliant certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher) required at time of start.
Security Clearance
Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
