Kentro is hiring for a Planner to support United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) in the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT). Developing, coordinating, and executing strategic initiatives that advance the organization's data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation objectives. The Strategic Planner will translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, synchronize efforts across organizational stakeholders, and provide leadership with clear assessments, recommendations, and decision-support products.
This position requires a strategic thinker who can operate effectively in a complex Department of Defense environment, understand organizational priorities, identify dependencies and risks, and develop practical strategies that support mission outcomes.

Location: Onsite in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute strategic plans supporting USASOC CDAO priorities, initiatives, and mission objectives.
  • Translate senior-leader guidance and strategic objectives into actionable plans, milestones, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support the development and implementation of data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation strategies.
  • Conduct strategic analysis to identify organizational challenges, capability gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps, implementation plans, organizational assessments, decision briefs, and executive-level presentations.
  • Coordinate strategic planning activities across USASOC staff elements, subordinate organizations, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, working groups, and stakeholder engagements to establish priorities and drive alignment.
  • Track strategic initiatives, milestones, deliverables, and performance measures to assess progress against established objectives.
  • Identify issues that may affect strategic initiatives and develop recommendations, mitigation strategies, and courses of action.
  • Conduct research and analysis of emerging technologies, industry practices, DoD initiatives, and mission requirements relevant to data and analytics.
  • Support organizational change management and adoption efforts associated with new data, analytics, AI, and technology capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain planning documentation, governance materials, strategic frameworks, and supporting artifacts.
  • Prepare concise written and visual products for senior government leadership and decision-makers.
  • Support governance processes by documenting decisions, action items, responsibilities, and follow-on activities.
  • Analyze operational and organizational data to support strategic decision-making and prioritization.
  • Assist with resource, capability, and workforce planning in support of CDAO strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with government and contractor personnel to ensure strategic initiatives remain synchronized with broader USASOC and USSOCOM priorities.
  • Perform other strategic planning and analysis duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Planning, Public Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, organizational planning, management consulting, program management, business analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience developing strategic plans, roadmaps, implementation plans, or organizational assessments.
    • Experience working with senior leadership and translating strategic guidance into actionable objectives and initiatives.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level briefings, presentations, reports, and decision-support products.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate across diverse stakeholder groups, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience working within a Department of Defense, military, federal government, or similarly complex organizational environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting U.S. Army Special Operations Forces, USASOC, USSOCOM, or another DoD organization.
  • Experience supporting a Chief Data and Analytics Office, Chief Data Office, Chief Information Office, or similar enterprise-level organization.
  • Knowledge of DoD data, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data governance, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience developing enterprise data or AI strategies and implementation roadmaps.
  • Experience with organizational change management and business process transformation.
  • Experience developing executive-level decision briefs and strategic communications.
  • Familiarity with DoD strategic planning, governance, acquisition, and capability development processes.
  • Experience using data visualization, analytics, or project management tools to support strategic decision-making.

Clearance Requirement:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)
