Job Description
Engineering Technician 2 to support our Expendable Products department in Research and Advanced Design. As a member of the Expendable Products department, you’ll build and test prototype weapon systems that advance state-of-the-art technologies for the Department to Defense (DoD). This position will serve on-site at the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems campus in El Segundo California.
Responsibilities
Provide check-out, integration, assembly, and test support for prototype weapon Systems incorporating electro-mechanical, power electronics, processors, sensors (passive and active), and rocket-powered effectors.
Execute instructions including drawings and electrical schematics, build planning, work orders, and test procedures. Support development of End-Item Data Package through collection and storage of data (e.g., build data, digital stills, handwritten records). Adhere to work safety practices for Electro-Static Discharge sensitive hardware, high power (high voltage) electronics, and clean-room (Class 10,000) processes. Adhere to protocols for handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and SECRET information. Participate in the System Demonstration for the DoD to be conducted at a Government Facility including on-site assembly, check-out, and live-fire testing.
Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician 2-
Work experience in assembly and integration military and/or aerospace weapon systems.
Work experience in fabrication and check-out of electrical cable and harness.
Work experience handling basic lab equipment (e.g., o-scope, multi-meter, power supply).
Active DoD SECRET clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications for Engineering Technician 2-
Work experience in assembly, integration and check-out of weapon systems including precision servo-driven mechanisms, missiles, or gun launched systems.
Work experience in handling energetic materials (1.1A safety hazard class materials).
Basic machining knowledge (operation of mill and lathe).
Active TOP-SECRET clearance.
