Cyberspace Operations Specialist

Location: MARFORSOUTH Headquarters – New Orleans, Louisiana
Work Arrangement: Full-Time, On-Site
Estimated Level of Effort: 1 FTE / 1,920 hours annually
Possible Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., excluding Federal holidays
Travel: CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required, potentially up to approximately 40 days per year, including locations within the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Area of Responsibility and Caribbean.

Position Summary

The Cyberspace Operations Specialist will provide on-site cyberspace operations support to the MARFORSOUTH G-3/9. The position will support the planning, integration, synchronization, risk assessment, and coordination of offensive and defensive cyberspace capabilities in support of MARFORSOUTH operations, contingencies, exercises, and mission requirements throughout the USSOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide cyberspace operations subject-matter expertise to MARFORSOUTH G-3/9.
Support the planning, integration, and synchronization of offensive and defensive cyberspace capabilities.
Assist in developing operational plans, annexes, appendices, orders, and other cyberspace planning products.
Analyze operational requirements and identify opportunities to integrate cyberspace capabilities in support of command objectives.
Support Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) planning and integration.
Incorporate cyber threat intelligence into operational planning, risk assessments, and development of courses of action.
Support cyberspace targeting, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) analysis/emulation, and vulnerability exploitation activities.
Assess operational risks and potential collateral effects associated with planned cyberspace operations.
Review cyberspace operations plans for compliance with applicable DoD/DoW, Department of the Navy, Marine Corps policies, legal guidance, and authorities.
Coordinate with MARFORSOUTH G-6, Marine Corps cyberspace organizations, USSOUTHCOM, and other theater cyber organizations.
Participate in operational planning teams, planning conferences, exercises, and tasker reviews.
Translate complex cyber vulnerabilities, capabilities, and technical findings into operational impacts and recommendations for non-technical staff and senior leadership.
Utilize cybersecurity and offensive-security tools and frameworks such as Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
Current Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph required.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in cyberspace operations.
At least three (3) years of experience planning and integrating offensive and defensive cyberspace capabilities at the operational or strategic level.
Demonstrated experience with Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO).
Experience with cyberspace targeting, cyber threat analysis, adversary TTPs, and vulnerability exploitation.
Proficiency with offensive-security/cybersecurity tools and frameworks such as Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
Working knowledge of policies and legal authorities governing military cyberspace operations.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to operational planners, leadership, and non-technical personnel.
Valid U.S. driver's license and U.S. passport.
Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS and obtain required country visas.
Preferred Qualifications

Cybersecurity or cyber threat intelligence certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI), or higher-level related certifications are highly desirable.
