Job Description

Duties

  • Perform with tact, courtesy, and firmness in the performance of all force protection duties, and exercise patience, discretion to the customers.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), telephone systems, and activates and deactivates CCTV.
  • Answer brief visitor questions, determines whether appropriate authorization for access exists, and provides assistance.
  • Prepare reports using automated programs such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft word, excel, and power point.
  • Initiate search reports from the computer database to determine causes of problems or anomalies with the system.

  • The work requires working rotating shifts in order to cover 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirement described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing systems such as Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), and various electronic security devices; 2) controlling access to secure areas; AND 3) utilizing office automation programs to create reports, rosters and/or complete forms. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
