Systems Engineer

The Sponsor’s office conducts forensic analysis of AI models on state-of-the-art computational infrastructure. The Sponsor requires systems engineering expertise with a background in Authorization and Assessment (A&A) to support continued sustainment a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment. This high-priority requirement will support the configuration, installation, continued security compliance, as well as partner with relevant Sponsor technical and security POCs to maintain the HPC system with current ATO (Authority to Operate) status. The Systems Engineer will work closely with other teams, including network engineers, data scientists, and government personnel. The Systems Engineer will work with the Sponsor for the execution of tasks, implementation, documentation, and configuration of a standalone HPC system. The Systems Engineer will work with the Sponsor to maintain A&A accreditation compliance. The Systems Engineer will work together with the Sponsor to create the visualization specifications for the system monitoring and system metrics The Systems Engineer will create, document, and update necessary artifacts such as the Configuration Management Plan, Data Management Plan, and CONOPS. The Systems Engineer will advise and assist the Sponsor with development of System Security Plans. The Systems Engineer will monitor, track, and update status of systems in Sponsor's RMF tool. The Systems Engineer will coordinate technical security assessments of computing environments and systems to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies. The Systems Engineer will partner with relevant Sponsor technical and security POCs to maintain the HPC system with current ATO (Authority to Operate) status.

Mandatory experience:
1. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience creating and reviewing documentation related to System Security Plans, or Body of Evidence (BOE) documentation
2. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with A&A processes
3. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with development of System Security Plans
4. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience working with system architectures, including hands-on setup, configuration, and optimization of systems.

Desired Experience:
5. (Desired) Demonstrated experience developing using REST Web services
6. (Desired) Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky
7. (Desired) Demonstrated experience with web application development
8. (Desired) Demonstrated experience designing, developing, implementing, or integrating IA and security systems and system components (such as those for networking, virtualization, cloud, and enclave environments to include those with differing data protection requirements).
9. (Desired) Demonstrated experience using Java and Oracle PL/SQL languages
10. (Desired) Demonstrated experience developing interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools
11. (Desired) Demonstrated experience with Sponsor A&A processes
12. (Desired) Demonstrated experience working with the Sponsor system architecture, including hands-on setup, configuration, and optimization of the system.
