• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline with 3-5 years of experience OR Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong background in optics and imaging systems
• Hands-on experience with infrared imaging and/or infrared sensors
• Experience with software and hardware integration
• Proficiency with C/C++ and MATLAB
• Experience with systems simulation and digital signal processing (DSP)
• Experience with testing, experimentation, and sensor integration
• Experience implementing algorithms in a research or engineering environment
• Experience working in Linux and/or Windows distributed computing environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss technical plans, schedules, and timelines

Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Top Secret Missile Defense Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Washington, DC. This candidate will support advanced research efforts focused on infrared imaging, threat detection, missile warning systems, and active countermeasure technologies. The individual will work within an optical sciences organization conducting research on infrared sensors, imaging systems, signal processing algorithms, and prototype technologies designed to detect and counter missile and hypersonic threats to Naval platforms. A qualified candidate will possess a strong background in optics, infrared imaging, imaging systems, digital signal processing, and software/hardware integration, along with hands-on experience supporting advanced sensor technologies in a research and development environment.
• Work with infrared camera and imaging systems
• Support development of missile warning and detection technologies
• Implement and test algorithms using MATLAB and C
• Evaluate sensor and imaging system performance
• Conduct laboratory testing and experimentation
• Assist in prototype development efforts
• Analyze infrared imagery and sensor data
• Verify vendor equipment capabilities and performance
• Support development of next-generation infrared sensing technologies
