Position
The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining America’s intelligence satellites.

Apogee Integration is seeking a highly experienced Verification, Validation & Transition (VV&T) Test Director to support the development, integration, verification, validation, and transition of new and modified overhead space capabilities. The Test Director will serve as an Activity Lead within the VV&T segment and will provide technical leadership and oversight of test planning, execution, documentation, and integration activities for high-visibility government programs. The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex test campaigns, coordinating across government and contractor organizations, developing test documentation, evaluating requirements and architectures for verification and validation impacts, and briefing senior stakeholders and government decision authorities.

Duties
• Serve as a VV&T Activity Lead and Test Director for new overhead assets and capabilities
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to subordinate Test Directors, including monitoring the status of test plans, supporting documentation, schedules, and test activities
• Report directly to the Technical Lead and Government Lead on test execution, documentation, schedules, risks, and overall VV&T activities
• Evaluate system architectures, requirements, risks, opportunities, and processes to identify and address verification, validation, and transition impacts
• Develop and maintain verification, validation, and transition documentation for new and modified operational overhead capabilities and assets
• Develop Requests for Change (RFCs) and provide status briefings on test schedules, documentation, risks, and related activities to segment and NRO leadership
• Facilitate technical meetings to coordinate integration activities, test planning, test execution, and supporting technical efforts
• Lead and support enterprise-level test events, system initializations, and other VV&T integration activities
• Coordinate and facilitate Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) to brief stakeholders and government decision authorities on test objectives, readiness, schedules, risks, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate and facilitate Test Review Boards (TRBs) following test events to brief stakeholders and government decision authorities on test results, metrics, unresolved issues, plans for closing incomplete test objectives, and assigned liens
• Coordinate closely with supporting contractors, mission partners, government stakeholders, and other technical organizations to ensure successful execution of VV&T activities
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of high-visibility test campaigns involving multiple stakeholders and mission partners
• Identify opportunities to improve VV&T processes, test execution, documentation, and overall mission effectiveness
• Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive technical and administrative tasks, improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and provide quality-of-life improvements for technical teams
• Perform other related duties as assigned in support of VV&T, test, integration, and mission objectives
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience with verification, validation, testing, integration, or transition of complex technical systems
• Experience serving as a Test Director, Test Lead, Activity Lead, or similar technical leadership role
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test procedures, test documentation, and readiness/review materials
• Experience coordinating and facilitating Test Readiness Reviews, Test Review Boards, or similar technical review events
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements, architectures, risk management, and verification and validation processes.
• Experience working with government customers, contractors, and mission partners in a highly collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief technical information to senior leadership and government decision authorities
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent test activities, schedules, documentation requirements, and stakeholder priorities
• Experience developing scripts or automation solutions to improve technical workflows and team efficiency
Desired Skills
• Experience supporting overhead space systems, satellite systems, or Intelligence Community programs
• Experience supporting NRO or other national security space programs
• Experience with enterprise-level integration and test activities
• Familiarity with RFC processes and configuration/change management

Pay
• Target Salary Range: $110,000 – $122,000. The salary range listed represents the anticipated compensation for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors
