Our cybersecurity team is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our team 100% onsite at our facility in Dulles, Virginia.
Our Global Security Services (GSS) organization is seeking a proactive and driven Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support and execute our cybersecurity requirements. The ISSO is responsible for safeguarding information assets by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our systems and environments. This role performs routine administrative and technical activities that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems and data.
You will be joining a dedicated team of cybersecurity professionals who partner closely across the business to ensure operational needs and security requirements are successfully aligned. The Global Security Services (GSS) team works collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to safeguard enterprise systems, drive security best practices, and strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
What You Will Do
Important note: Within six months of hire date, you must obtain and maintain a Security professional certification commensurate with IAM Level I certification (Security+ or other), if you do not already have this certification.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

What You Will Do
- Perform routine administrative and compliance tasks, including documentation, hardware/media accountability, and change management processes.
- Monitor security events, alerts, and system logs to identify potential threats, anomalies, or Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) within Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
- Conduct or review vulnerability assessments, analyze results, and support remediation efforts with technical teams.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
- Collaborate closely with Digital Technology (DT) and business partners to ensure security controls are effectively integrated into systems, applications, and operational processes.
- Participate in security awareness initiatives and contribute to strengthening the organization's overall security posture.

- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
- Relevant Experience Considered in any combination:
- Systems security, hardening, and security control implementation
- Experience with DISA STIGs and their application
- Network security experience, including architecture, topology, protocols, and components
- Experience with endpoint protection, identity management, and cloud security concepts
- Experience with SIEM technologies and their purpose
- Experience reviewing, interpreting, and implementing NIST SP 800-53 security controls
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
- Experience with AI technologies and their secure implementation
- Experience in technical writing with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and accessible manner .
Qualifications We Prefer
- Current IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE); IAM Level II or III certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
