Job Summary
The Production Control Technician supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating production activities to help ensure schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are met. This role serves as a key liaison between Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing Operations.
The Production Control Technician monitors work orders, work in process (WIP), and material availability; identifies production constraints; and helps ensure products move efficiently through the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced aerospace/UAS manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor production schedules, work orders, and work in process (WIP) to support on-time delivery and identify production constraints.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Inventory Control to resolve technical issues, nonconformances, inspection holds, and material shortages impacting production.
- Support production planning, workload prioritization, and capacity planning activities.
- Provide schedule updates, escalate risks, and support production meetings with accurate status reports and recovery plans.
- Verify manufacturing documentation is accurate, complete, and available to support production activities.
- Expedite critical materials and hardware required to meet production schedules.
- Support HazMat tracking and compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain and report key production metrics, including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, throughput, labor efficiency, and WIP status.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve production flow and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
- High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of experience in production control, manufacturing, production planning, operations, or a related environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and manufacturing work instructions.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting UAV or aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and configuration management processes.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with inventory management, material planning, and production scheduling.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Ability to distinguish differences in wire and indicator light colors.
- Operation of hand and power tools.
- Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Working in confined spaces and around aircraft.
- Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required.
