Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the General Schedule-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Design and conduct comprehensive medical logistics studies using qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve the effectiveness of readiness and mobilization programs; 2) Develop new metrics and criteria to measure program accomplishments and results where current guidance is inadequate; AND 3) Serve as the principal expert for Service policy regarding contingency operations, mobilization, and Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

- Develop, coordinate, and maintain formal long-range contingency and disaster plans in accordance with Department of Defense guidance.
- Synchronize and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Influence senior leaders and provide authoritative advice on complex mobilization and contingency issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule major peacetime and wartime exercises.
- Review Joint Chief of Staff level exercise plans, brief participants, and lead evaluation teams to assess readiness and recommend corrective actions.
- Direct and enhance medical logistics readiness by providing timely planning support for Class VIII supplies, equipment, and maintenance.
- Support Army medical units across a full range of operations, including exercises, deployments, and sustainment.
- Resolve highly complex logistical problems with command-wide or inter-agency impact.
- Analyze the effectiveness of existing programs, develop new performance metrics, and implement significant policy changes and corrective actions to address logistical deficiencies.
