Job Description

Duties

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-2 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Help identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Assist with correlating PM objectives with Program plans to assure required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Help coordinate and evaluate logistics support to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time.
  • Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointly research and help develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focused on delivering a MDS capabilities that are effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH 02 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. I have three years of general experience, one year of general experience of which was equivalent to the next lower grade (NH-01/GS-04) or equivalent in the federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector).
  • Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

B. Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university.

OR

C. Combining Education and Experience : Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education maybe substituted for experience at the NH-02/GS-05 level.

UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION : Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements for many positions covered by this standard. Others have individual occupational requirements that specify that applicants must, in general, (1) have specific course work that meets the requirements for a major in a particular field(s) , or (2) have at least 24 semester hours of course work in the field(s) identified. Course work in fields closely related to those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. ACQUISITION POSITION: This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level Foundational Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position.
  • DAWIA (Back to Basics) Certification: NON-CAP: Position requires DoD Acquisition, Life Cycle Logistics, Foundational certification. Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 36 months after entry into this position.
