Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, network security, and system hardening. This role requires a detailed-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect organizational data and systems
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff on security best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into new systems and applications
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents in a timely manner
• Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and recommend appropriate countermeasures
• Participate in security audits and compliance assessments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security or a related field
• Experience with industry-standard security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, encryption)
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
• Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GCIA
