Senior Information Systems Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This role is critical to our organization's mission, requiring expertise in information security, system architecture, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure information systems and networks
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures
• Manage security incidents and respond to threats
• Collaborate with software developers to integrate security into the development lifecycle
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
• Experience with secure software development
• Familiarity with government security requirements (e.g., NIST, FISMA)

Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
