We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This role is critical to our organization's mission, requiring expertise in information security, system architecture, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure information systems and networks.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Manage security incidents and respond to security breaches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into system design and development.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with emerging security threats and trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information systems security.
• Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices.
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
• Experience with cloud security and virtualization.
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or HIPAA.

Clearance Requirements:
We require an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph for this position. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain this clearance.
