Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator (Secret Clearance Required)

Insight Global is seeking an Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator with an active DoD Secret Clearance to support a long-term Direct Access infrastructure program. This individual will play a key role in the administration, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise Oracle and PeopleSoft database environments supporting a large-scale Human Resources system.
This is a 100% remote opportunity for candidates residing in approved states, offering the chance to support a mission-critical federal program while working with modern cloud technologies, AWS infrastructure, and PeopleSoft environments.
Compensation
$150,000 - $175,000/year

Candidates must reside in one of the following states:
AL, CA, CT, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NC, NJ, OR, RI, SC, TX, VA, DC, or WV
Required Certification
Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification)
Responsibilities
-Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database software within AWS RDS environments
-Monitor and optimize database performance through SQL tuning, resource optimization, and PeopleSoft-specific diagnostics
-Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability using CloudWatch, RDS monitoring tools, and PeopleSoft health checks
-Design and maintain backup and recovery solutions utilizing automated backups, point-in-time recovery, cross-region replication, and restore validation testing
-Enforce database security, auditing, encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements
-Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, locking, metadata inconsistencies, and cross-tier application impacts
-Provide off-hours production support and rapid resolution of critical incidents
-Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system runbooks
-Automate routine database administration tasks using Bash, Python, SQL automation, AWS Lambda, and Step Functions
-Support database migrations, environment refreshes, PeopleTools upgrades, and PUM lifecycle management activities
-Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and high-availability architecture initiatives
-Maintain compliance reporting, audit documentation, and operational deliverables in rapidly evolving environments
Required Qualifications
-Active DoD Secret Clearance
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
-Security+ CE certification or equivalent
-5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience
-Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, administration, and troubleshooting
-Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and database optimization
-Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, and/or Python scripting
-Experience with database monitoring and automation tools
-Knowledge of AWS RDS, CloudWatch, and cloud-hosted database environments
-Ability to support mission-critical systems in a highly regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications
-Oracle DBA experience supporting PeopleSoft environments
-Experience with PeopleTools metadata, PSFT schemas, compare reports, PUM lifecycle management, and environment refreshes
-Understanding of cloud-native automation for security, backups, scaling, and performance optimization
-Experience supporting High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
-Familiarity with SQL audit reporting and compliance-driven environments
-Strong automation and scripting capabilities
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
