Sr. Systems Engineer - Modeling

Location: Chantilly, VA 20151

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly (FS Poly may satisfy where accepted by the customer)

Certifications: Required; Security+ CE at minimum where applicable, or other certification aligned to the assigned DoD 8140 work role

Position Summary
The Sr. Systems Engineer - Modeling will engineer and sustain the modeling platform supporting a secure Model-Based Systems Engineering and digital engineering environment. The role focuses on TeamWork Cloud, Cameo, cloud-based application deployment, CI/CD automation, databases, identity integration, testing, and interoperability across enterprise engineering tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Engineer, configure, deploy, and sustain TeamWork Cloud, Cameo, and supporting modeling services in a secure cloud environment.
• Implement applications as code through CI/CD pipelines and automate repeatable deployment and configuration activities.
• Administer and integrate supporting data services such as Cassandra and other relational/non-relational databases.
• Integrate modeling applications with identity, workflow, ticketing, automation, and enterprise engineering platforms.
• Develop integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, Groovy, APIs, and DevOps tooling.
• Build comprehensive unit, integration, user, and system test plans and support validation of new capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex application, database, infrastructure, identity, and integration issues.
• Maintain architecture, configuration, test, operating, and troubleshooting documentation while applying MBSE and systems engineering rigor.

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Current DoD 8140 qualification/certification appropriate to the assigned DCWF work role and proficiency level. Acceptable examples for this position may include: CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 CISSP, ISC2 SSCP, CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+), ISC2 CCSP. Final acceptability is subject to the current DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix and prime contractor/customer work-role requirements.
• Current and active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph. Mandatory at time of submission.
• Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining TeamWork Cloud and Cameo (and associated tools like Cassandra DB) as AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment.
• Expertise configuring, deploying, and maintaining applications as AaC through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Ability to demonstrate solid engineering rigor.
• Expert troubleshooting and solutioning skills.
• Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g. Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly and succinctly describe complex issues.
• Experience integrating applications with workflow, case or ticketing, or automation platforms such as ServiceNow or custom-built systems.
• Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and/or OIDC.
• Demonstrated experience with building comprehensive test plans for unit and user system testing and validation.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Developing integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy.
• Experience and comfort with basic DevOps Tooling (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab).

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced STEM degree or role-relevant technical certifications.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience with Cloud solution optimization.
• Experience configuring and instrumenting visualization tools (Grafana, Splunk) to work with applications.
• Experience with ServiceNow.
• Integration of virtualized applications and application streaming or layering techniques.
• Assist with leading and overseeing a total system perspective including technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of cloud services, infrastructure and security domains.
• Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining COTS applications/tools systems engineering experience (configuring/deploying AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment).
• Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining IBM Enterprise Lifecycle as AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment.
• Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining SharePoint as AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment.
• Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining Tableau as AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment.
• Experience with maintaining API Gateways, catalogs in a cloud-based environment.
• Experience developing cross domain capabilities.
• Other Cloud experience (Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM).
• Familiarity with Containerized Development environments (Rancher, Kubernetes).
