Job Description
RF Systems/Hardware Engineer
Location: Aurora, CO
Duration: Long-term Contract with Option to Hire
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
Contract Rate: $80-110/hour
- Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience supporting RF ground systems engineering for satellite communications (SATCOM).
- Strong experience in RF systems engineering.
- Experience with system requirements, including generating, analyzing, tracking, and/or managing requirements.
- Experience developing and maintaining:
- RF schematics
- Block diagrams
- System analyses
- Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Design review packages
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting RF systems using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience troubleshooting system outages, RF/hardware issues, and equipment failures, including diagnostic data collection and system restoration.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows-based systems.
- Experience supporting Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of RF/SATCOM systems.
- Ability to support occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel, including emergency repair trips with little or no advance notice.
- Ability to provide occasional after-hours/on-call support.
- Ability to work at heights and complete required antenna/tower safety training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating and influencing design performance and cost trade-offs for engineering changes.
- Ability to contribute technical expertise to RF system design teams and system architecture discussions.
- Experience developing recommendations for new operational concepts, system architecture, and process improvements.
- Experience working with vendors to coordinate, track, and expedite repairs of critical operational hardware.
- Experience identifying and documenting RF capability enhancements.
- Experience writing technical documentation, white papers, and engineering recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting hardware upgrades and maintenance in Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with system architecture, concept of operations (CONOPS), and engineering change analysis.
