LEAD Endeavors is seeking proactive full-time Civilian Payroll Specialists for an upcoming program at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, who are searching for increased job satisfaction and career advancement opportunities with a small but dynamic company.

Qualifications/Abilities You Bring:
• minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience as a Payroll Specialist or Manager, with a proven track record in a civilian or government environment;
• expert knowledge of payroll regulations, including FLSA, tax withholding, and reporting;
• demonstrated experience in developing and implementing SOPs;
• strong background in preparing for and managing financial and compliance audits;
• excellent training, communication, and mentoring skills;
• proficiency with [Mention your payroll software, e.g., ADP, Workday] and Microsoft Excel; and
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
• Risk and Audit: Conduct a comprehensive review of current payroll processes to identify compliance gaps and areas of risk. Develop and implement a payroll audit readiness program, including creating checklists and internal controls. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audit inquiries related to payroll.
• Process Improvement: Document all payroll activities and develop a complete manual of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to improve accuracy and efficiency. Ensure all payroll-related systems are configured to support compliance and accurate reporting.
• Training and Mentoring: Develop and deliver training sessions to current payroll staff on new SOPs, compliance updates, and best practices. -Provide one-on-one mentoring to team members to enhance their skills in payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
• General Payroll: Oversee complex payroll transactions, including garnishments, deductions, and off-cycle payments. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
