Qualifications/Abilities You Bring:
• 3-5 years of experience as a Special Security Representative or Special Security Officer;
• minimum 3 years’ full-time experience working with SCIFs in all security disciplines, but specifically in personnel, physical, and information;
• ability to work independently in an operational environment and must possess knowledge of a full range of security principles, concepts, practices, products, and services;
• experience with COCOM or ASCC; and
• successful completion of National Counterintelligence and Security Center - Special Security Officer Course (SSOC) (or equivalent).
Job Responsibilities:
• support the command SSO in processing personnel access verification in eligibility for special security clearance actions;
• perform all aspects of Physical Security (PHYSEC) by providing day-to-day support for badging, access control, and visitor control;
• ensure all SCIF documentation is current and up to date;
• provide guidance and assistance for validation of SCI access, access requirements, processing SCI, nomination interviews, and conduct/coordinate SCI security briefings;
• knowledgeable in interpreting and implementing security guidance based on applicable ICDs, SEADs, 32 CFR Part 117, and other policies, regulations, and processes as applicable;
• support program managers and personnel with classification guidance and other program related requirements, such as incoming and outgoing visit certifications, and foreign travel reporting;
• investigate security incidents and prepare required reports;
• ensure SCI material is properly controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, safeguarded, and destroyed, as appropriate;
• assist and provide guidance on future ICD 705 builds and/or modifications;
• collaborate and assist the ISSO/ISSM on management of TS information systems and networks; and
• possess the understanding and ability to operate and manage accounts within the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) platform, as well as eligibility to gain access to, and accordingly manage, accounts within the Scattered Castles and Full-Service Directory platforms.
