Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) experience operating instrumentation systems such as radar, telemetry, optics, targets, Global Positioning System (GPS), timing, flight safety, meteorology system or general electronic test instrumentation for an organization; 2) experience analyzing operational methods to provide solutions for the improvement of data collection; and 3) experience providing recommendations to modify or improve assigned electronic systems or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade position in the federal service (NJ-03/GS-11).

- Evaluate overall performance of the instrumentation system and advise of any data support limitations.
- Lead team members in performing troubleshooting of instrumentation systems and equipment to correct problems.
- Work directly with range agencies and range users in the execution of support plans to satisfy very complex mission requirements.
- Analyze requirements to determine areas where meteorological instrumentation and meteorology system support is required.
- Provide effective test support to include but not limited to planning, scheduling, data collection, mission control and analysis.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
- Position requires a physical every 2 years.
- Position requires use of protective clothing or equipment as authorized by the WSMR Safety Office
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Class A, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of starting this position to operate commercial vehicles required by this position.
- The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- May require use of protective clothing or equipment as authorized by the WSMR Safety Office.
- Position may be required to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, and/or overtime.
- This position requires the incumbent to work in all types of weather.
- The incumbent must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds unaided.

- The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NJ-04 is equal to the former GS-12 Step 01 through GS-13 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $116,932.00 including locality.
