Job Description

Site Lead – Mission Rehearsal Training (MRT) & Assault Zone Operations
Location: [Will Rogers ANGB / Hurlburt Field / Cannon AFB]
Clearance: Secret (required)
Type: Full-Time Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Lead to serve as the primary on-site authority for Mission Rehearsal Training (MRT) and Assault Zone support. This is a leadership role that combines full site management with the requirement to remain fully qualified and current as an MRT Ground Party / Assault Zone Operator.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the principal point of contact with the COR, government schedulers, aircrews, and range authorities.
• Manage the site workforce to ensure qualified coverage five days per week, with the ability to surge to six days per week twice per month, while strictly enforcing the 40-hour work-week limit.
• Optimize cross-utilization of personnel across MRT Ground Party and Assault Zone roles.
• Maintain training, qualification, and currency records for the team.
• Prepare and submit all required deliverables and oversee equipment, vehicles, COMSEC/OPSEC, and safety programs.
• Regularly perform operational duties as a fully qualified Operator to maintain personal currency, support surges, and fill shortfalls.
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of management/supervisory experience.
• Fully meet Analyst–Operator qualifications (10 years as a JTAC or 10 years as an active-duty rated aircrew: Pilot, CSO/WSO with strong SOF experience preferred).
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL + HAZMAT endorsement.
• Physical ability to perform duties in austere, night, and inclement conditions.
• Complete AFSOC LZSO/DZSO training and local Wing certification within 30 days of start.
Important Note on Assault Zone / ATC Duties
The Site Lead must be capable of performing Landing Zone Controller (LZC), Drop Zone Controller (DZC), or Safety Officer (LZSO/DZSO) duties, which include providing air traffic control (ATC) services and using ATC phraseology in accordance with DAFMAN 13-217 and FAA JO 7110.65. These qualifications are obtained through AFSOC LZSO/DZSO training and local certification. While the Site Lead is expected to hold these qualifications, not every Operator on the team is required to be dual-qualified in MRT Ground Party and full ATC/LZ-DZ Controller roles.

MRT & Assault Zone Operator
Location: [Will Rogers ANGB / Hurlburt Field / Cannon AFB]
Clearance: Secret (required)
Type: Position Overview
We are hiring qualified Operators to support AFSOC Mission Rehearsal Training (MRT) and Assault Zone (LZ/DZ) operations. Personnel will be utilized across roles to provide flexible coverage within the 40-hour work-week limit and during surge periods.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform as a member of MRT Ground Party teams (JTAC/GFC emulation, friendly and OPFOR role-playing, secure/unsecure communications, pyrotechnics, threat emulators, lasers, etc.).
• Perform Assault Zone duties as Landing Zone Controller (LZC), Drop Zone Controller (DZC), Landing Zone Safety Officer (LZSO), or Drop Zone Safety Officer (DZSO) when assigned.
• Conduct surveys, marking, marshalling, limited weather observations, and range safety duties.
• Operate terrain-capable vehicles and maintain required qualifications for explosives handling when needed.
• Support day/night operations (majority night) in austere conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (All Candidates)
• 10 years in the JTAC career field or 10 years as an active-duty rated aircrew (minimum 3 years SOF pilot/CSO/WSO preferred).
• Strong experience with SOF procedures, TTPs, and radio communications (UHF/VHF/FM/HF/SATCOM, A-TAC/Link-16).
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to obtain CDL + HAZMAT endorsement if required for the role.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs and work in austere/night/inclement conditions.
• Complete required local training and certifications within 30 days of start.
Assault Zone / ATC Qualification Note
Some positions on the team require the ability to provide air traffic control (ATC) services and use ATC phraseology in accordance with DAFMAN 13-217 and FAA JO 7110.65 while performing LZC/DZC or LZSO/DZSO duties. These qualifications are obtained through AFSOC LZSO/DZSO training plus local Wing certification. Not every Operator is required to hold full ATC/LZ-DZ Controller qualifications. We maintain a mix of personnel — some focused primarily on MRT Ground Party roles and others dual-qualified or primarily assigned to Assault Zone/ATC duties — to meet mission needs efficiently through cross-utilization. These roles offer the chance to directly support AFSOC aircrew training in a dynamic environment while working within a flexible, cross-utilized team structure.
