An Operation's Staff Technician (T4) within Focal Plane Operations works under moderate supervision, provides semi-advanced technical skills/techniques for manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. They work collaboratively with area leads to use their extensive experience to perform training, hands-on hardware processing, assigned tasks, while serving as a technical resource for operations. Staff Technicians are recognized as subject matter experts within multiple work cells or stages and routinely execute complex assignments with moderate supervision and evaluate workmanship inside the work cell. They demonstrate exceptional problem-solving, communication, planning, and organizational skills while supporting process improvements, documentation accuracy, factory readiness, and production flow.

**3rd Shift: 10PM - 6:30AM in Goleta, California. This is an onsite position.

What You Will Do
  • Actively participate in a Safety-First work environment
  • Set up and configure test structures and equipment according to engineering specifications and testing requirements, executing pre-test preparation when necessary
  • Serve as a technical resource for operators, engineers, and support organizations
  • Factory liaison for TAKT goals on Tier boards
  • Execute/coordinate Engineering and Lab Work Orders (EWOs AND LWOs) to facilitate quick turn processing and increased cycles of learning
  • Assist Test Engineering on special projects with supervisor approval
  • Factory POC for relevant holds to facilitate closure with the appropriate function
  • Factory POC for value stream mapping efforts and time studies
  • Expand their certifications to technically cover more work cells
  • Monitor test processes and accurately record data for analysis and reporting purposes in an organized and detailed fashion.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues during testing, escalating complex problems to the engineering team as needed.
  • Work to resolve paperwork issues for planning, EYELIT, Change Orders, EWOs and LWOs


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • US Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract


Qualifications We Prefer
  • More than 6 years of production experience in cleanroom fabrication, assembly, manufacturing or equivalent
  • Has experience in MS Office (Excel)
  • Experience working in a technical field
  • Extensive knowledge/certifications for multiple cells in the FPO area
  • Significant experience with the EYELIT WIP tracking database
  • The flexibility to work occasional, voluntary overtime on weekend to meet the factory's needs is strongly desired

The salary range for this role is 58,400 USD - 111,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
