Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supporting federal retirement and/or benefits programs, such as verifying documentation to support retirement eligibility determinations; utilizing an automated data system to assist with processing related personnel actions; researching federal laws and regulations to respond to customer inquiries.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-07:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education
or
Superior academic achievement
or
Have a combination of education and experience that equates to 100% of the requirement.

- You will be providing retirements/benefits counseling to assigned customers in the Civilian Employee Benefits areas.
- You will make recommendations to supervisor, ensure recommended solutions are in accordance with latest guidance and federal regulations.
- You will mentor and train junior staff.
- You will conduct formal benefits and retirement sustainment training for staff as well as Staffing teams.
- You will prepare and conduct briefings regarding retirement and benefits for serviced employees.
- You will serve as troubleshooter for retirement and benefits issues.
