Job Description

Duties

  • Establishes priorities for assigned first-line supervisors and supporting workgroups.
  • Serves as a second-line supervisor responsible for a workforce engaged in supply chain and logistics management.
  • Analyzes information to make decisions and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Makes decisions on recommendations presented by subordinate supervisors and sets priorities and schedules.
  • Manages employees who are located across multiple geographical locations and engaged in technical logistics staff work and specialized logistics operations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period as described in 5 CFR Part 315 unless previously completed with Army. While probationary, the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 24% or less of the time.
  • Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics level one (1) certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position/Key Leadership Position and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement Key Leadership Position) and execute, as a condition of employment.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level 3 (Advanced) in the Acquisition Career Field - Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Leads the planning, development, implementation, and management of effective and affordable product support strategies for supply during sustainment of a system's lifecycle.2) Analyzes information to make decisions and achieve organizational objectives of a highly complex, rapid paced, dynamic nature.3) Collaborates with heads of other workgroups at a high level to negotiate, decide on, and/or coordinate work related change(s) affecting the larger organization.4) Provides managerial level consultation and evaluation to the Director concerning plans, policies, and programs, the allocation of funds and material, command position to higher headquarters, direction of research and development efforts, and revision supply policies and techniques.
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or (GS-13 equivalent).
