Job Description

Duties

  • Leads financial oversight for command budget, and plans, programs, and executes resources ensuring compliance with policies and directives.
  • Conducts cost analysis and manage processes, develops spend plans, monitors obligations, and provides reports to senior leadership.
  • Interprets fiscal policy and enforces internal controls, resolves accounting issues, oversees audits, and ensures compliance with regulations.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Employees in this position are required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • This is a Fiscal Law position. Employees in this position are required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in planning and executing organizational budgets; and 2) Compiling and analyzing financial data to support cost estimates and forecasts; and 3) Monitoring obligations and expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations; and 4) Preparing routine reports and briefings to communicate funding status and recommended actions to management.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level (NH-02/GS-11).
