This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). As a LEAD HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
- Directs the execution and coordination of a variety of military personnel strength management programs.
- Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
- Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provides advice on work methods, practices, and procedures, and assists the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
- Maintains expertise with career patterns and military specialties to ensure units are authorized the proper personnel for mission accomplishment.
- Leads the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.

- providing authoritative guidance on military personnel assignments, transfers, promotions, separations, and applicable policies and procedures; managing and reviewing Joint military awards and decorations; processing award nominations, certificates, and supporting documentation; ensuring personnel actions comply with regulatory requirements; resolving complex military personnel issues; and providing technical guidance and quality review to staff, leadership, and management officials.
