Job Description

Duties

  • Incumbent is responsible for the operation of the Post Subsistence, Area Cantonment, Ammunition, Property Book, Petroleum Supply, General Supply and Warehouse Sections.
  • Supervises technicians, contract employees, and temporary employees engaged in support of the site to include subsistence, ammunition, billeting, warehouse and building issues.
  • Receives requirements/reports from various organizations for ammunition.
  • Directs activities pertaining to property accounting and responsibility, supply economy, supply discipline, and maintenance of pertinent records.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of reports of petroleum serviceability and consumption.
  • Responsible for the receipt, storage and release of materiel requisitioned and consigned to the training site by visiting training organizations.
  • Formulates the logistical support procedures covering the operation of activities under his/her supervision.
  • Establishes procedures for the uniform inventory of subsistence and ammunition items at the close of each training period to ensure necessary stocks are available for the ensuing period.
  • Responsible for the orderly issue and turn-in of cantonment area buildings, administrative facilities and equipment to organizations conducting training.
  • Communicates with organizations scheduled to utilize site facilities on matters of policy and directives and furnishes advice on policy and operations.
  • Responsible for establishment and conduct of pre-annual training mess school in accordance with existing directives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: WO1 through CW3 or O1 through O3

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 25B, 36B, 51C, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92G, 92Y, 920B, 920A

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.

Education

To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the line of work.

For the GS-11 level: To qualify on education alone applicant must have one of the following: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related

Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-11 including qualifying with combination of education and experience.
