About Neuma Consulting

At Neuma Consulting LLC, we believe that inspired lives produce inspired solutions. As a
minority-owned, mission-driven government consulting firm based in Northern Virginia, we
partner with defense and intelligence agencies to revolutionize how intelligence is produced,
visualized, disseminated, and consumed.

We are intentional about building an environment where talented people can do their best
work—professionally and personally—while delivering high-impact solutions to some of the
nation's most critical missions.

Our Values

• Relational Integrity – We operate with honesty, trust, and respect in every interaction.
• Collective Ingenuity – We believe the best solutions emerge from collaboration and
diverse perspectives.
• Intentional Stewardship – We thoughtfully manage our time, talent, and resources to
deliver lasting value.
• Creative Rest – We recognize that balance and rest are essential to sustained creativity
and performance.
• Transforming Generosity – We go beyond expectations for our teammates, our
customers, and our community.
• Fun! – We take pride in our work and believe enjoying the journey matters.

The Opportunity

Neuma Consulting is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the Defense Intelligence
Agency (DIA) on a recently awarded 5-year contract, offering long-term stability and the
opportunity to shape how software is built, secured, and delivered across the EPD application
ecosystem.

EPD's applications are moving from VM-based deployments to a fully containerized
architecture, and the pipelines, platforms, and automation you build will be the backbone of
that transition. You'll work within a broader engineering organization of 40+ developers,
serving every application team—including Foundational Services and the SOURCE rebuild—as the senior technical resource for CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure automation in a
classified environment.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain GitLab CI pipelines used by application teams across the EPD
ecosystem
• Lead containerization of applications and manage orchestration on OpenShift,
supporting the migration from VM-based deployments to containers
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment builds across
development, test, and production enclaves
• Integrate security into the pipeline: STIG hardening, vulnerability and dependency
scanning, and automated compliance checks
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting for containerized workloads; review
server logs and consoles onsite to triage and debug production issues
• Support cross-domain deployment processes (high-to-low) and releases across multiple
security domains
• Partner with the ISSO to generate evidence for assessment and authorization and keep
environments continuously compliant
• Mentor developers on pipeline usage, container best practices, and deployment
workflows
• Document platform architecture, runbooks, and release procedures

Tech Stack: GitLab CI Pipelines, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux (RHEL), Ansible,
Terraform, Bash, Python, Node.js/TypeScript application stacks, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis,
Elasticsearch

A Great Fit If You: enjoy being the platform backbone for multiple teams rather than owning a
single product, take satisfaction in making deployments boring and repeatable, and have
experience operating in classified environments. Because the EPD systems run on JWICS and
much of the work is hands-on in the SCIF, a recent CI Poly is strongly preferred to enable onsite
work from day one.

What the Role Requires

• Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university; or a Bachelor's
degree from an accredited college or university plus an additional 2 years of related
experience
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category
(minimum 10 years with a Bachelor's degree)
• Active TS/SCI clearance (recent CI Polygraph strongly preferred)
• Mandatory: GitLab CI (or equivalent CI/CD), Docker, container orchestration (OpenShift
or Kubernetes), Linux administration, scripting (Bash and/or Python)
• Experience deploying and operating applications in classified or otherwise restricted
environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management (Terraform,
Ansible, or similar)
• Experience integrating security scanning and STIG compliance into build and
deployment workflows
• Experience supporting databases and data services in production (PostgreSQL,
MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
• Experience working within collaborative, cross-functional Agile teams
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• Comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments, with the
ability to plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluate performance results,
recommend changes affecting project growth and success, and function as a technical
expert across multiple project assignments
• Highly Desired: DoD 8140/8570 certification (e.g., Security+), experience with cross-
domain solutions, JWICS experience, artifact management (Nexus/Artifactory), Helm,
GitOps workflows, monitoring stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Splunk)
