Job Description
Insight Global is hiring 5 EOIR Systems Engineering Leads to work as the Technical Lead/Principal Investigator in performing algorithm concept and development work related to advanced electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensing. As the lead of this team, you will guide the team in sensor modeling, signal/image processing, concept development/refinement, customer/sponsor engagement, and AI/ML algorithm development. The team is focused on researching solutions for emerging sensors and mission areas, and as a result of these successes, we have a need for more staff to support the growing range of programs supported. Come join us for this 100% on-site position from Linthicum, MD!
What You'll Get To Do:
The AEOIR business area has a rapidly growing set of efforts related to EOIR-based concept development, algorithm development, and signal exploitation. These programs span a range of modalities, but share a common theme of developing new techniques to solve challenging problems. As a technical lead, you will guide a diverse team of physicists, systems engineer, signal processing engineers, and AI/ML engineers in developing novel EOIR sensor capabilities and evaluating the performance of these techniques. You will also perform direct technical work to advance the needs for the group. You will develop concepts for novel EO/IR sensors and develop cutting-edge algorithms to meet emerging mission needs. You will analyze data collected from some of the most advanced sensors ever fielded and generate representative synthetic data using high-fidelity, physics-based models. You will lead interactions with external customers and internal leaders, building trust through communicating the technical achievements and capabilities of the group. You will set the technical vision for the group, defining roadmaps and developing internal R&D plans to create and mature novel technologies.
A strong candidate for this role has experience in airborne and/or space-based EOIR sensors, experience developing and implementing algorithms, experience leading teams to successful program execution, and strength in customer engagements.
Minimum Job Requirements Include:
• Bachelors Degree with 14 years of experience, a master degree with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 10 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Experience as a team lead with successful customer interactions and experience leading junior and peer team members
• Experience in technical computing languages, e.g. Python or Matlab
• Experience with airborne and/or space-based EOIR sensors
• Experience with Physics-based understanding of detection methods for various phenomenologies
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in STEM
Experience writing technical proposals
Experience acting as principal investigator of team lead for RD programs
Experience developing and executing internal research and development projects
Current Top Secret clearance, SAP access(es), and/or SCI access
Strong communication skills, both for internal and external audience
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead technical execution of R&D programs
Mentor and develop junior team members
Develop, integrate, test, and deploy novel EOIR-centric algorithms
Build and maintain physics-based sensor models
Develop and quantify performance metrics for system performance
Understand data quality and artifact impacts
Represent system performance in functional and analytical models
Insight Global is hiring Multiple candidates for these openings so exact pay will vary based on a number of factors including depth of knowledge, level of expertise, clearance level, and overall years of experience.
