Component Engineer | Linthicum, MD (BWI)
We are looking for a Component Engineer to join a premier defense technology organization supporting advanced aerospace, defense, and national security programs in Linthicum, MD (BWI). The successful candidate will become part of the Components Management Team within the Design Life-Cycle Engineering Department
Requirements:
--Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to transfer an active DoD Secret Clearance prior to start.
Key Responsibilities:
--Review and prepare data for Program Design Team and Configuration Control Board (CCB) reviews, including screening and qualification test plans.
--Analyze and identify replacement electronic components to resolve obsolescence, long lead times, and standardization challenges.
--Support DMS/EOL identification and notification activities.
--Manage component requirements and documentation across defense programs.
--Lead component requests, approvals, and component drawing development.
--Support Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA), failure investigations, and component issue resolution.
--Ensure component environmental compliance, authenticity, and traceability.
--Chair component review boards for commercial, industrial, military, and space-grade components.
--Partner with cross-functional teams to meet program requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
--Support multiple programs and stakeholders across the organization.
--Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for fiber optic, opto-electronic, and optical components.
--Conduct component trade studies and provide recommendations that influence system architecture and performance.
--Participate in major program milestones, including design reviews.

--Work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, external customers, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
