ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This is a full-time on-site position at the William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTCAA).
RMLS is the FAA's logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file.
Citizenship Requirement
All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
Relocation Requirement
Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Education & Experience Requirement
All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- Six (6) to Nine (9) years of related work experience.
- Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Automated test experience; demonstration of knowledge will be required during the interview.
- Experience in:
- Testing of software/hardware/system, client/server applications hosted on Enterprise Systems with Oracle database in a replicated environment.
- Verifying the interactions and integrations between various components or systems, ensuring data flows accurately.
- Ability to:
- Work independently, as well as a team.
- Research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication; including developing technical documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Prior FAA Test experience.
- Experience in:
- C#
- Scripting: Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell
- Web-based or mobile test automation using test tools such as Selenium, Playwright, MSTest, NUnit, ExtentReports, and/or Jenkins.
- Performance Testing using JMeter.
- Working on Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), using JIRA or similar defect/bug tracking tools.
- Knowledge of:
- Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework for automation testing on .NET applications, such as Specflow.
- DevOps and Continue Integration/Continuous Delivery or Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for continuous testing and validation.
Essential Daily Job Duties
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS, including troubleshooting, Help Desk assistance, and inventory tracking.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and mobile applications in alignment with FAA requirements.
- Develop and execute test cases and scripts for software, hardware, operating systems, networks, and Maintenance Data Terminals (MDTs).
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to ensure software reliability, security, and performance in real-time environments.
- Identify, document, and track defects in issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and work with Agile teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage system inventory and configuration identification, including tracking and maintaining hardware assets.
- Analyze test results and generate clear, concise reports; test modifications and validate readiness for implementation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, while providing feedback to improve testing processes.
Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard work schedule; nights and weekends occassional.
- 10% travel possible.
