Job Description

Duties

  • Advises the brigade and its functional organizations on matters relating to the implementation and utilization of acquisition policies and procedures.
  • Prepares acquisition briefings covering the full spectrum of organizational and contracting topics for presentation to higher authorities.
  • Reviews Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs),and Evaluation Criteria for proposed acquisitions.
  • Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.
  • Provide advice on work methods, practices, and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
  • Ensures acquisition packages are accurate, complete, and contain all required supporting documentation.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 10% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance with T3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk Investigation.

This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by preparing acquisition packages for a variety of products and services; developing contract language to ensure customer requirements are met; analyzing acquisition requirements to identify potential issues and recommending corrective actions/solutions; and assisting in the development of acquisition plans/strategies for equipment, supplies, and/or services.

In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
