Job Description
Position: System Engineer Level 3
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held)
Technical Focus: Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, Dell/HP Servers, NetApp Storage
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Engineer, configure, secure, and maintain RHEL7+, Windows 2012+, and VMware ESXi systems
• Manage kernels, OS installations, hardware/software configurations, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Support Active Directory with Centrify integration; create/assign Linux accounts and groups
• Install and manage McAfee/Nessus agents; conduct vulnerability scanning and compliance activities (IAVA/CVE)
• Upgrade and troubleshoot Dell, HP, and custom-built servers; perform memory, swap, and disk expansions
• Execute storage migrations from legacy NetApp systems to modern solutions
• Patch and harden systems using Red Hat Satellite, WSUS, and approved security scripts
• Analyze system requirements, architectures, and CONOPS; develop and refine system specifications
• Lead design, development, integration, test planning, and engineering documentation
• Create system architectures (DoDAF, SOA), interface definitions, and design solutions
• Coordinate CCB actions, design reviews, and multi‑discipline issue resolution
• Define verification methods, evaluation criteria, and support certification/accreditation processes
• Assess risks, conduct trade studies, run modeling/simulation, and ensure lifecycle system integrity
• Maintain configuration control, technical baselines, and compliance with national and agency standards
• Provide technical direction across hardware/software development, interfaces, and end‑to‑end flow analysis
• Develop operational concepts, scenarios, and system design alternatives considering performance and cost
• Ensure accurate interface control documentation and participation in integration activities
• Support JCIDS documentation and DoD‑required systems engineering processes
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held)
• 20+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting complex, multi‑discipline government or DoD programs
• Five years of additional SE experience may substitute for a degree
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field
• IAT Level II (Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+, CCNA Security, or GICSP)
• Proven success planning, leading, and executing comprehensive systems engineering efforts
• Deep expertise with Linux/Unix system engineering in both physical and virtual infrastructures
• Strong background with Windows Server, VMware ESXi, Dell/HP server hardware, NetApp storage, and enterprise patching
• Demonstrated experience creating system architectures, requirements documents, interface controls, and engineering plans
• Extensive experience conducting system integration, testing, verification planning, and lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience performing risk assessments, trade studies, modeling/simulation, and configuration management
