Senior DSP Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Senior DSP Systems Engineer to support the design and development of advanced space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite technologies throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and system definition through hardware development, integration, testing, and deployment.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, program management, integration and test, suppliers, and technical stakeholders to deliver innovative communication payload solutions.

We are seeking a Senior DSP Systems Engineer to support the design and development of advanced space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite technologies throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and system definition through hardware development, integration, testing, and deployment.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, program management, integration and test, suppliers, and technical stakeholders to deliver innovative communication payload solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing (DSP) architectures.
- Define, allocate, and verify system requirements and interfaces for communication payloads.
- Develop system performance analyses and communication link budgets.
- Evaluate and analyze signal processing models to ensure mission requirements are met.
- Conduct subsystem trade studies to optimize performance, cost, and schedule.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds.
- Plan and execute unit-level integration activities and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA-based system design, implementation, and verification.
- Participate in hardware procurement, technical reviews, and unit qualification activities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in signal processing and/or image processing.
- 10+ years of experience in electronic systems engineering.
- Master's degree with a focus on Signal Processing, Communications, or Algorithm Development.
- Experience developing algorithms for implementation on ASICs and/or FPGAs.
- Strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts and applications.
- Experience with Simulink, MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar engineering tools and programming languages.
- Experience leading or contributing significantly to collaborative technical projects.
- Knowledge of verification planning, validation methodologies, and system-level testing.
- 14+ years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with satellite communications, digital payloads, RF systems, and space-based communication architectures.
