Summary
This position will focus on the development and deployment of modifications to training support devices. Responsible for implementing, testing and documenting instructional systems hardware baseline changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware for products.
• Installs, configures and maintains training equipment, including site preparation.
• Perform diagnostics and ongoing support for various training devices and systems.
• Assist in managing administrative tasks such as physical inventory of hardware and software license compliance.
• Develops test strategies, devices, and systems.
• Develops and supports hardware technical specifications, vendor work scopes, technical manuals and drawings associated with hardware modifications.
• Performs stress and performance tests on a variety of hardware including circuit boards, processors, structures and wiring.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. • Must be able to generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills.
• Drafts and/or changes hardware drawings as required using industry standard drafting software. • Applies established procedures where the nature of the system, project feasibility, equipment involved, programming languages to be used, etc., have already been decided. • Performs some system design work as required.
• Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic analytical engineering problems assigned.
• Selects or modifies proven methods, mathematical formulae, previous design and test information, handbook data, or other available information related to assignments.
• Prepares and completes the design of components or portions of moderately complex functional systems, working from overall operations, functional, quality, and similar design requirements. • Designs or selects needed equipment or materials.
• Performs liaison with and provides technical assistance to the test group during test preparation and actual testing phases.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline , and 5+ years of experience in an appropriate engineering discipline, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical Controls, Industrial, Computer, Engineering Science, Civil, or Aerospace.
• Experience in aviation or aviation related simulation systems hardware design/modification highly desired • Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
• Must be proficient in creating and modifying drawings using AutoCAD
• Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
• Understanding of military protocols and customs is essential
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment
• Work is primarily performed in a software development or engineering lab environment, with occasional time spent in simulator bays or training device areas.
• Regular interaction with software engineers, integration specialists, testers, and project leads.
• Fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple projects occurring simultaneously.
• Use of computers, engineering tools, development equipment, and simulators daily.
• Occasional travel may be required for onsite support or training system deployment activities.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while operating a computer or performing engineering tasks.
• Ability to conduct walkthroughs of simulator areas, training facilities, and engineering labs as needed.
• May require lifting or moving small equipment or components (up to approximately 25 lbs).
