Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a SCRUM MASTER, JR you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a scrum master, jr joining our team to support our Intelligence Community customer in Springfield, VA.

HOW A SCRUM MASTER JR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The SCRUM Master, Jr. is responsible for the following:
  • Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team
  • Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events
  • Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
  • Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories that are clearly articulated with well-defined acceptance criteria
  • Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
  • Assist with internal and external communication
  • Assist product owners with backlog grooming
  • Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
  • Determine and remove impediments that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation
  • Collaborate with fellow scrum masters to promote best practices
  • Mentor junior scrum masters


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and /or software/application development processes
  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically JIRA and Confluence
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required to start and must be able to obtain a CI Poly
