HOW A SCRUM MASTER JR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The SCRUM Master, Jr. is responsible for the following:
- Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team
- Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events
- Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
- Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories that are clearly articulated with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
- Assist with internal and external communication
- Assist product owners with backlog grooming
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
- Determine and remove impediments that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
- Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity
- Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation
- Collaborate with fellow scrum masters to promote best practices
- Mentor junior scrum masters
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps and /or software/application development processes
- Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically JIRA and Confluence
- Active TS/SCI clearance required to start and must be able to obtain a CI Poly
