Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Application Identity Developer to support a federal program in Stuttgart, Germany . The Application Identity Developer will serve as a hands-on engineer responsible for developing, integrating, and securing enterprise applications within a large-scale Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) environment. This role is heavily focused on coding, authentication integrations, API development, automation, and troubleshooting complex identity solutions supporting mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities of the Application Identity Developer include:
· Develop and maintain custom identity integrations using Python, Java, .NET, PowerShell, or similar technologies to support enterprise application onboarding and authentication workflows.
· Build and configure secure application authentication solutions leveraging SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and federation technologies.
· Design, develop, and troubleshoot REST APIs, identity broker integrations, and access management services supporting enterprise applications.
· Implement authentication and authorization logic through PingFederate, PingAccess, F5 BIG-IP/APM, reverse proxies, and API gateway technologies.
· Automate identity lifecycle, access provisioning, application integration, and validation processes using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
· Debug and resolve complex authentication, authorization, federation, and Single Sign-On (SSO) issues across distributed environments.
· Collaborate with security engineers and application teams to implement Zero Trust access controls and modern ICAM enforcement capabilities.
Qualifications for the Application Identity Developer include:
· Active Secret Security Clearance required.
· Bachelor's degree and approximately 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, application development, IAM, or ICAM environments.
· Hands-on development experience with Python, Java, .NET, PowerShell, REST APIs, or similar programming technologies.
· Experience integrating enterprise applications with IAM/ICAM platforms, identity providers, and federation services.
· Strong knowledge of SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Single Sign-On (SSO), and modern authentication architectures.
· Experience with PingFederate, PingAccess, Okta, Entra ID, Active Directory, SailPoint, F5 BIG-IP/APM, or related identity technologies.
· Ability to troubleshoot authentication, authorization, API integration, and identity federation issues in complex enterprise environments.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with technical stakeholders supporting federal missions.
Compensation for the Application Identity Developer includes:
· Salary Range: $180,000 - $225,000 based on experience
