Sr. Reliability Engineer - Imaging Platform (Contract-to-Perm) Location: Milpitas, CA | Onsite | $70-$73.66/hr About the Role: Join a leading life science innovator as a Sr. Reliability Engineer, supporting the Imaging Platform team across three critical projects. You will play a hands-on and strategic role in launching new products, solving real-world product failures, and driving cost reduction initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work onsite in a collaborative R&D environment, with potential for conversion to a permanent position. Responsibilities: - Lead and manage multiple reliability projects simultaneously from concept through sustaining phases - Conduct final liability testing and launch support for new product introductions (30% lab-based work) - Provide robust field support, troubleshoot failures, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers to resolve issues (40%) - Drive cost reduction activities and sustain ongoing reliability improvements for existing products (30%) - Develop, implement, and document risk mitigation test plans - Facilitate and guide FMEA sessions to evaluate and address technical risks - Collect, organize, and analyze large sets of reliability test data for actionable insights - Direct root cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and validated - Communicate high-level project updates and critical issues to stakeholders and leadership - Advise on new designs to ensure robust, reliable product performance Required Skills and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline - 5+ years' reliability engineering experience (Master's degree may substitute for 2 years) - Experience in performing reliability testing, statistical analysis, and root cause investigations - Strong knowledge of reliability fundamentals: life predictions, modeling, environmental and accelerated testing - Exceptional communication skills - Comfortable working in a BSL2 lab and preparing blood samples (training provided) - Demonstrated problem-solving skills using technical standards and concepts Preferred Skills: - Experience with fluidic, optical, or electro-mechanical systems - Familiarity with test automation tools (LabView, Arduino) - Background in FMEA-driven risk assessment - Knowledge of Six Sigma tools, DOE, and reliability modeling - Proficiency in data analytics tools (Minitab, MATLAB, JMP, R) Benefits: - Possible contract-to-perm transition for high performers - Work in a high-impact, collaborative R&D environment - Gain exposure to cutting-edge life science technologies - Equal Opportunity Employer: Inclusive and diverse workplace How to Apply: If you are a driven reliability engineer seeking a hands-on role with growth potential, submit your resume today.
