CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS ANALYST

Duties

• Develop innovative and strategic programs on behalf of the Chief, Legislative Affairs.
• Develop business processes and policies on matters not governed by higher echelons or regulatory guidance.
• Formulate official responses to written and telephonic requests from Members of Congress, their staff, and Congressional committees.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Managing and coordinating legislative analysis and strategy for an organization to include management of legislative analysts; developing organizational and Legislative Strategy on Congressional Objectives to facilitate successful engagements between Senior Leaders and Members of Congress; coordinating the submission and analysis of legislative proposals to the Administration; monitoring congressional activities to determine potential impacts to the organization; advising senior leaders on all congressional matters.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
