Description

Job Summary:

The Regional Dynamics Analyst provides analytic support through research, analysis, collaboration, and the development of intelligence products related to emerging events and Violent Extremist Organizations (VEO) within the AOR; adversary and partner-nation leadership intent; cultural and religious dynamics; and economic and political events significant to the 9 AF (USAFCENT) mission. The analyst evaluates potential implications for 9 AF (USAFCENT) plans and operations and contributes to products such as PowerPoint presentations, formal messages, background papers, items of interest, collection and production requirements, responses to requests for information (RFIs), and staff summary packages for general officers, CAOC/9 AF (USAFCENT) staff, and supported units.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports training and knowledge-sharing activities involving predictive and forensic analysis, with a focus on the physical, economic, and sociocultural factors that influence interpersonal and interstate dynamics within the AOR.
  • Provides expert analytic support to 9th AF (USAFCENT) planning, by authoring and reviewing prioritized intelligence and production requirements, intelligence estimates, and annexes and appendices.
  • Serves as the adversary Airpower authority on 9 AF (USAFCENT)'s Red Team, during war-gaming and exercises, and in support of 9 AF (USAFCENT)'s adaptive planning processes.
  • Serves as 9 AF (USAFCENT)/A2 Force Protection lead, ensuring Force Protection personnel throughout the AOR have the proper sight picture on potential threats to their respective installations and personnel.
  • Participates in formal and informal analytic exchanges and training opportunities to strengthen peer-to-peer collaboration, support thorough product review, and maintain proficiency in essential analytic tradecraft.
  • Coordinates and collaborates, as required, with the National Command Authority; national, international, and service intelligence centers; combatant commands; air components; and wing intelligence organizations.
  • Maintains intelligence and operations community accesses relevant to the assigned functional area to support situational awareness and planning. Required accesses may include ACCM, JSTO, limited-distribution Signals Intelligence reporting, and limited-distribution Human Intelligence reporting.

Position Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Four (4) years' comparable experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Formal Intelligence Analysis training
  • Experience briefing and analyzing complex geopolitical issues.
  • Working knowledge of USCENTCOM AOR, political/military threats, understanding of violent extremist organizations, terrorist organizations, working knowledge of intelligence analysis and techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Advanced Analytic training preferred.
  • Unit level experience working with aircrew preferred.
  • Must possess a valid US passport
  • Current TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • USAF AOC Course/Experience
  • Prior All-Source Analyst
