Position Summary:
FRDA is seeking a Technical Training Manager to lead the development, management, and delivery of technical training programs for customers operating in complex security and technology environments. The ideal candidate brings operational experience, technical depth, strong instructional judgment, and the ability to translate complex threat and technology concepts into practical, relevant training experiences.
The Technical Training Manager will report to the Vice President of Training & Execution and the Director of Science and Technology and will work closely with instructors, subject matter experts, and contract personnel to ensure FRDA’s training remains current, operationally relevant, and effective for customer needs.
This role is full-time hybrid in Arlington, Virginia.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and manage FRDA’s technical training course content and instruction, including material related to Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance (UTS), digital privacy, technical operations, and related security problem sets.
Design, update, and deliver training content that reflects current operational realities, emerging technologies, evolving technical threats, and customer mission requirements.
Manage and maintain the technical training tools used in the classroom, including cameras, laptops, mobile devices, beacons, and other equipment required to support realistic and effective instruction.
Provide operational insight, risk management methodologies, and practical examples based on prior experience and technical expertise.
Research technologies, threat trends, and technical disciplines outside of the candidate’s primary area of expertise to ensure training remains forward-looking and relevant.
Coordinate with instructors specializing in different disciplines, subject matter experts, and contract workers to deliver an informative, cohesive, and customer-focused training experience.
Partner with FRDA leadership to identify training priorities, improve course quality, and align technical instruction with organizational standards and customer expectations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Top Secret security clearance.
A degree or professional certification in a relevant technical discipline.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting the US military, the US Government, or closely related mission environments.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a specific communications, engineering, surveillance, or related technical discipline, with basic knowledge across multiple additional technology disciplines.
Demonstrated understanding of UTS and/or digital privacy problem sets, including associated risk management techniques.
Experience deploying, integrating, or using Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technologies in an operational setting.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including operational personnel, instructors, and customers.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage course materials, equipment, schedules, and stakeholder coordination in a hybrid work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
TS/SCI clearance
Coding or scripting experience, particularly with Python, Jupyter, or PowerShell.
Experience using GitHub, APIs, or related tools to manage, share, or integrate technical resources.
Basic understanding of network equipment, implementation concepts, and network-enabled technical systems.
Experience developing or delivering technical training, operational training, or classroom-based instruction for government or mission-focused customers.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary instructors, technical experts, and contract support personnel.
The approximate pay range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities.
