We are seeking Senior DSP Systems Engineers to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.
* You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems.
* Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test.
* You will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.
Position Responsibilities:
• Design and develop next generation RF, and digital satellite communication systems.
• Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
• Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
• Develop performance and link budgets.
• Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
• Execute payload subsystem trade studies to improve performance cost and/or schedule.
• Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds.
• Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations.
• Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
• Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
Required Skills:
• This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing.
• 10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering.
Preferred Skills:
• Master's degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
• Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
• Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
• Simulink experience in work or school. Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
• Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
• Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
• Typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
