Job Description
TMC Technologies is in search of a DevOps Engineer to support the FBI's ECS Data and Applications Team, which develops, operates, maintains, and enhances a suite of cybersecurity tools deployed across secure enclaves to support incident response, threat detection, and event monitoring. The team integrates data from centralized and local system sources, ensuring effective and timely responses to cybersecurity events. As a capability development provider, they create new applications, algorithms, and automation to optimize workflows and improve data analysis. The candidate must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of an active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility to start due to federal contract requirements.
The DevOps Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, deployment, testing, certification, operations, patching, addressing interoperability issues, of DevSecOps infrastructure tools, including all operating systems, support libraries, components, and application dependencies.
- Responsible for the primary Operations and Maintenance workforce multiple tools.
- Deploys and configures services using infrastructure as a service provider.
- Configures and manages Linux-based servers to serve a dynamic website.
- Debugs cluster-based computing architectures.
- Uses scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
- Installs and manages open-source monitoring tools.
- Develops in Python and effectively uses GitHub for source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD workflows.
- Applies hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Ansible for container orchestration, configuration management, and automated deployments in secure environments.
- Practices agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) in a DevSecOps setting, including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Quickly learns and implements tools like Grafana, Splunk, Cribl, Power BI, and cloud-based development services to improve monitoring and automation.
Job Requirements
US Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
Experience with Linux based environment administration required
Experience with Splunk required.
Experience testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity.
Experience developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate
Experience integrating third-party components, the introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendation, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks
Experience with Splunk, Oracle/SQL based platforms, and Python
