Senior SAR Scientist and Spectral Scientist – Multiple Positions
Location: Dayton, OH (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base)
Clearance Required: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility

Position Overview
NV5 is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior SAR Scientist and Spectral Scientist to support operational intelligence missions and applied research and development activities for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) and the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC). This role involves the acquisition, processing, modeling, analysis, cataloging, and dissemination of non-literal Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) derived from both active and passive electro-optical sensors, including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal infrared data.
The successful candidate(s) will contribute to the development of intelligence products, technical reports, presentations, algorithms, analytical tools, workflows, training materials, CAD models, and technical papers that support national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
-Utilize advanced GEOINT tools to analyze and exploit remotely sensed data and produce intelligence products.
-Perform non-literal exploitation of either active sensor data (including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)) and passive sensor data (including multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal infrared imagery).
-Integrate exploitation results with contextual research and electro-optical (EO) literal analysis to provide meaningful intelligence assessments.
-Analyze unique, anomalous, and complex datasets using engineering principles and physics-based analytical approaches.
-Develop and improve processes, methodologies, and workflows to support advanced GEOINT exploitation.
-Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of analytical products prior to dissemination.
-Support algorithm development and process automation through scripting and software-based analytical solutions.
-Produce and deliver intelligence reports, technical papers, briefings, presentations, and training materials.
-Complete all required security, network, and sensor discipline training.
Required Qualifications:
-Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
-Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field such as: Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Imagery Science.
-10+ years of experience in geospatial intelligence, remote sensing, imagery analysis, or a related technical field.
-Strong technical writing, briefing, and presentation skills.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Imagery Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related STEM field.
-Experience exploiting and analyzing active or passive remote sensing data, including: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Multispectral imagery, Hyperspectral imagery, Thermal Infrared (IR) data.
-Experience with GEOINT exploitation and geospatial software tools, including: ENVI, SOCET GXP, RemoteView, ArcGIS, Similar imagery analysis platforms.
-Experience with scientific programming and data analysis tools such as: Python, MATLAB, R, IDL.
-Experience developing algorithms, scripting solutions, and automating analytical workflows.
