Position Overview Garrett Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Joint Military Planner to support strategic planning, operational design, and high‑level coordination across joint and combined military operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Department of War and Joint Staff activities, with a strong understanding of national‑level strategies and campaign planning.
Key Responsibilities
• Support development, integration, and assessment of joint and combined operational plans.
• Conduct mission analysis, operational design, and strategic planning aligned with national defense objectives.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), and interagency partners.
• Analyze and ensure alignment between the National Military Strategy, National Defense Strategy, Consolidated Strategic Opportunities, Global Campaign Plans, and CCMD campaign plans.
• Provide expertise in policy, strategy, assessments, exercises, and operational planning processes.
• Contribute to senior‑level planning efforts, strategic documents, and operational concepts.
Required Qualifications
• At least 7 years of experience working within the Office of the Secretary of War and/or the Joint Staff in operations, plans, policy, strategy, assessments, and/or exercise fields.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Department of War processes and national‑level strategic guidance.
• Experience in Joint and/or Combined operations and operations planning, including strategic planning and mission analysis.
• Graduate of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase II or equivalent.
