CAT III Arabic Linguist (GTMO)

Torden is seeking qualified Arabic linguists for positions on US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay (GTMO).

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to interpret, translate and transcribe between Modern Standard Arabic and English


• Must meet interpretation and translation language assessment skills test to an ILR 3 minimum in AD - MSA and 2+ in English


• Must have typing and computer skills


• Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team


• Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.


• Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers


• Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.


• Due to location of assignment, must meet medical and dental screening requirements as well as immunizations up to date

Security Requirements:

• Individuals must have an active TS/SCI security clearance


• All candidates must undergo a U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening
