ASRC Federal Cyber is seeking a Generator Maintenance Equipment Operator at Fort Greely, Alaska.
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Generator Maintenance Technician & Equipment Operator is the maintenance, repair, and operation of power generation equipment. This role includes performing preventative inspections, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the position involves operating a variety of heavy equipment for tasks such as snow removal, excavation, and material transportation, as well as collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to complete complex projects. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and coordination skills are essential for success in this role. The Equipment Operator & Generator Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of power generation equipment and heavy machinery. This role includes performing preventative inspections, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position also involves operating a variety of heavy equipment for tasks such as snow removal, excavation, and material transportation, as well as collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to complete complex projects. Work Schedule: This position may require flexible hours, including on-call availability for emergency repairs or snow removal during inclement weather. The work schedule is 4/10, with a start time of 6am. The position will rotate being on call and possibly need to respond to emergencies after business hours to support mission critical needs.

Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance checks on generators.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting generator faults.
- Completing repairs on generators, including parts replacement.
- Ensuring generators are compliant with safety regulations.
- May be involved in generator installation or relocation.
- Utilizing precision measurement tools and performing machinery alignment with high accuracy.
- Keeping detailed records of measurements, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Coordinating and scheduling with other trade positions (Laborers, Instrumentation group, Electrical group, Scaffolding group, etc.) and the Operations Team for combined effort projects.
- Operating heavy equipment such as skid steer, cranes, snowplows, dump trucks, sweepers, power shovels, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments. Equipment is used to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, snow, or other materials.
- Performs preventative and daily operator inspections and maintenance on equipment/vehicles in accordance with DOT and company requirements, and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
- Responds to a wide array of operational situations as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in generator repair, heavy equipment operation, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience with generator maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery for snow removal, grass cutting, and similar tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices for equipment operation and repairs.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds, 75 pounds team lift.
Skills Required:
- Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with different types of generators (diesel, natural gas, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Mechanical aptitude and hand tool proficiency.
- In-depth experience with precision measurement tools and machinery alignment.
- Accurate record-keeping and detailed note-taking skills.
- Excellent coordination and collaboration abilities for multi-disciplinary projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical systems and power generation principles.
- Experience with specific generator brands or models.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance records and accessing technical manuals.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
