Job Description
We are seeking Security Monitors to support a restricted-access facility in Alice Springs, Australia. In this role, you will oversee uncleared personnel and visitors on site, ensuring that their activities stay confined to the areas designated for each task and are carried out in full compliance with the facility's security and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and account for assigned uncleared personnel and visitors for the full duration of their time on site.
• Prevent uncleared personnel and visitors from viewing sensitive site materials or entering areas beyond their authorization.
• Use handheld radio equipment to maintain communication with relevant site personnel and coordinators.
• Confirm that uncleared personnel and visitors do not introduce or operate electronic devices anywhere on the premises without prior approval from the Joint Security Staff.
• Brief uncleared personnel and visitors on emergency evacuation, lockdown, and site security procedures, and ensure they comply with them.
• Guard against the unauthorized removal or theft of property belonging to the facility.
• Perform assigned duties outdoors and in harsh or extreme weather conditions when required.
• Remain mobile for extended periods, including prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs as the post demands.
• Provide occasional support in other operational areas — such as cleaning, food services, or trades — when there is an operational need for additional staffing.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by Security Management.
Required Qualifications
• Hold an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance; a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph is preferred.
• Adhere consistently to established policies and procedures.
• Adjust readily to shifting priorities and changing site conditions.
• Demonstrate dependable follow-through in completing assigned tasks.
• Work professionally and self-sufficiently with minimal supervision.
• Project a consistent, security- and safety-conscious presence at all times.
• Be willing and able to obtain White Card (Construction Induction) certification.
• Possess a clear understanding of, and commitment to, sound security and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a security, guard, or access-control role.
