Saalex is seeking a Senior System Administrator in Camarillo/Naval Air Station Point Mugu, CA. The selected candidate will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for systems administration, cybersecurity compliance, RMF support, vulnerability management, configuration management, and enterprise infrastructure support across multiple mission-critical systems. This position requires extensive experience supporting secure DoD environments and the ability to lead technical efforts across diverse operating environments.

Essential Functions:
- Lead administration, maintenance, and sustainment of Windows and UNIX/Linux systems supporting mission operations.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor for RMF, cybersecurity compliance, and system authorization efforts.
- Lead preparation, maintenance, and submission of accreditation packages and RMF documentation.
- Implement and oversee security controls, STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Review, analyze, and remediate ACAS findings, audit logs, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
- Lead patch management efforts, security updates, and operating system lifecycle activities.
- Manage system resources including availability, capacity, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Support planning, installation, testing, and deployment of new hardware, software, and operating system upgrades.
- Lead development of system documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, inventories, and configuration baselines.
- Serve as a voting member and technical contributor to Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and change management activities.
- Review and approve technical changes to ensure compliance with system security and configuration management requirements.
- Coordinate with Information Assurance personnel, engineers, system owners, and government customers.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior administrators and technical staff.
- Support cybersecurity inspections, audits, security assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Participate in enterprise IA initiatives supporting department-wide cybersecurity requirements.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to technical teams and end users as required.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of systems administration experience supporting complex Windows and/or UNIX/Linux environments.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD-approved Information Assurance certification required.
- Experience implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls, system hardening, patch management, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience supporting RMF, ATO, continuous monitoring, and enterprise cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience with Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), change management processes, and configuration management documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and mentor junior personnel.
Desired:
- Experience supporting RMF, ATO, and DoD cybersecurity compliance activities.
- Experience with ACAS, eMASS, SCCM, Tenable, or similar cybersecurity tools.
- Experience supporting Navy, NAVAIR, or other DoD environments.
- Microsoft, Red Hat, Linux+, RHCSA/RHCE, or similar systems administration certifications.
Education:
